Pelvic Prolapse, Hope, and Healing: Kathleen’s Journey Back to Confidence
About this episode
When Kathleen first experienced symptoms of pelvic organ prolapse, she was shocked.
At 64 years old, after eight pregnancies and nine children, pelvic floor issues had never been part of her story. But after a busy season of standing, cooking, preparing for Christmas, and pushing through her body’s warning signs, she suddenly felt a bulging sensation that left her scared, confused, and unsure of what to do next.

Kelly Dean, MPT
Kelly has a Masters in Physical Therapy and focuses her career on Diastasis Recti and core related issues. In this episode of The Tummy Team Journey Podcast, Kathleen shares how she moved from fear and frustration to hope, confidence, and practical healing. After seeing a doctor and being offered only a pessary or surgical options, she began working with Kelly and discovered that her symptoms were connected to much more than her pelvic floor.
Through e-sessions, online courses, and simple daily tools, Kathleen learned how her posture, core strength, breathing, pelvic alignment, and daily movement habits were all connected. Instead of living in fear or avoiding the activities she loves, she began building a toolbox that helped her respond to symptoms, reduce flare-ups, and move through life with more confidence.
Kelly and Kathleen discuss why prolapse can feel so urgent, why Kegels are not always the solution, and how functional core rehab can help support the pelvic floor in a way that is practical, empowering, and sustainable.
