Move Like a Mermaid

Pregnancy hormones allow your pelvis to spread and expand but can also make the joints of your pelvis unstable and painful. Minimizing extra sheering pressure on these joints can prevent a lot of discomfort. It begins with awareness. Avoiding specific movements is really important. This strategy can give you a practical way to keep your pelvis stable.

Lock your legs together. When shifting positions in bed, think of your legs as one leg. Lock the legs together (like a mermaid) and shift positions by placing pressure evenly through both legs. This will take the unilateral pressure off the pelvis and minimize pelvic pain.
