The Exhale

The most common issue we see with ineffective breathing is sucking in air and sucking in your tummy and then exhaling and collapsing your core. This is also called breathing in opposition. It is the opposite of what our body needs to do to fully activate the deep transverse muscles. Unlearning this strategy can be tricky and frustrating. But in this lesson, we have a few tips to help you be successful.

Practice makes perfect. Look for opportunities throughout your day to practice this intentional exhale. Every time you practice you are sending a signal from your brain to the transverse abdominis. The more signals sent the more effective the connection.
