3-5-2 Pattern

There are 3 components to the breath that are important for core connection and activation. The inhale, the exhale and the ability to hold the core without holding the breath. This lesson will guide you through the rhythm of expanding on the inhale for 3 seconds, exhaling and as you engage the core for 5 seconds and then holding the TA engaged and stable for 2 seconds. Follow along and practice to develop this coordination until it becomes natural.

Find your tempo. While you are building this connection, it might not feel natural to simply do these breaths anywhere. You will likely need to take a few minutes to designate to this activity when you first sit down to find the tempo that becomes natural. After a few sessions of practice you can combine this with your other breathing exercises to build more endurance in the TA.
