Night Time Incontinence

There are several causes for night time incontinence or urgency that all have different treatment plans. Getting up multiple times a night to use the bathroom can be very disruptive to your sleep and as you age can increase fall risk and can become very challenging to manage. This lesson gives you several things to consider that could change everything.

Address your circulation. One major cause of increased night time urinary issues is impaired circulation. If we are sitting or standing a lot during the day we may need to give our legs a opportunity to flush out that extra fluid before we go to bed. Adding some leg elevation, ankle pumps, and other exercises 1-2 hours before bed can help a lot.
