Diastasis Recti and Jumping

Jumping tends to be a part of a lot of work outs and sports but can be really difficult with a weak core. A diastasis keeps your core unstable and your organs, back, and pelvis unsupported so jumping creates impacts that can cause more damage than benefits. There is a way to gradually build up to being able to jumps well. but you need to rebuild your core and close your DR first and then go through a progression. This lesson helps you understand this process better.

Start small. Coordination is key to timing your core engagement with the impact of the jump. Starting with just core activation in sitting and then progressing to standing and then shifting from one foot to the other is how you can start small.
